What We Do

HOW DID SHE GET STARTED?

Robin Barclay, PT, is a highly experienced physical therapist with over 24 years dedicated to improving the lives of aging adults, with a particular focus on individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. She specializes in helping her clients maintain independence, prevent falls, and manage the unique challenges of aging. Robin earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science Honors in Physiotherapy from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland, where she trained in clinics across the country.

Robin’s career has spanned diverse settings, including her role as a physical therapist at George Washington University Hospital and providing physical therapy in pediatric settings. Recognizing the need for proactive, in-home care for older adults, she founded Safe at Home Physical Therapy, focusing on helping individuals live safely and confidently in their homes.

In 2015, she developed the "Keep on Moving"© classes, designed to help older adults build strength, improve balance, and reduce fall risk while transitioning from physical therapy to sustainable exercise routines.

Robin is a recognized expert in Parkinson’s disease care, holding specialized certifications in Rock Steady Boxing, LSVT BIG, PWR! Moves, and PD Warrior. These programs allow her to provide evidence-based interventions tailored to the varied presentations of Parkinson’s and atypical Parkinson’s diagnoses

Robin’s primary focus is on empowering the aging population, particularly those with Parkinson’s disease, to maintain mobility, independence, and safety. In addition to her clinical practice, she conducts home safety assessments and collaborates with senior living facilities to provide specialized therapy to residents with Parkinson’s, provide staff training and develop programs tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with Parkinson’s disease.

How It Works

GET BACK TO DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

Safe At Home Physical Therapy is for people who want to stay active and independent. Whether that means playing with grandchildren, golfing, traveling, or just getting around your home/community without being limited by pain or feeling a little weak or wobbly,  we have specialized programs to help you. It is for you if you do NOT like relying on pain medicine. You can reduce and abolish pain that is limiting your mobility, without the risks and side effects of medication. By improving your strength, balance, and mobility our programs can help you continue, or get back to doing the things you enjoy now, and for years to come.

Each client is evaluated and given a specialized exercise program, developed and based on their goals and needs. We come to you or you can come to our clinic at 410 Phoenix Mills Plaza, Victor, NY. Therapy Sessions are up to one hour, you will have the same therapist every visit and you do not have to be homebound. No referral needed to begin therapy.
