Retirement Ain't What it Used to Be!

Oh how things have changed since my grandparents retired. It was a time of rest. Well deserved rest, but the imbalance of rest vs. activity weighed heavily in favor of rest. Now we know that the aging population can build strength and balance just as well as anyone else. This is why it is important to keep on moving (hence the name of our class offered at the Legacy at Fairways in Victor). Our current medical model is set up in a way that treats people after a fall, injury or illness. Keeping fit and improving your strength and balance can help you build your reserve capacity. This can decrease your risk for falls, injury and keep you out of the doctors office. We offer screenings to see what your risks may be, so that areas of weakness can be addressed so you can stay active and do the things you enjoy.
